According to Lucy K, nutritionist, bloating takes place due to various reasons from not working out to not following an apt diet for your body. 

Constipation: This allows more time for food to ferment in your lower gut, producing gas and bloating.

Incorporate gentle exercise into your daily routine, plenty of fluids and increase fibres which are known to help constipation without being too irritating; for example kiwi-fruits, linseeds, chia seeds and oats.

Food intolerances: These should be explored with a gut health dietitian to prevent restrictive diets and deficiencies.

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO): This is where bacteria have moved from your large intestine (where we want it), up into your small intestine (where we don’t want it).

Hormones: When estrogen levels increase, we tend to retain water and feel bloated.⠀
