Garlic is an important ingredient in most of the Indian households. Not only does it make the food taste better, but it also comes with umpteen health benefits.

Agreed dietitian, Dr Garima Goyal, who said “Garlic contains a compound called allicin, which makes garlic a medicine in disguise.”

However, the experts warned that just “two minutes in the frying pan destroys all the health benefits of Garlic.”

Dr Moomal Asif added that we can change this and retain all the health benefits of garlic by making one simple change—“Crush, chop or mince garlic and keep it away from heat for 10 minutes.”

“During this time the maximum allicin is created and stays intact during cooking,” said Dr Garima, adding that after 10 minutes we can “fry, saute, bake to your heart’s content and still get all its medicine.”
