Three things to avoid during menstruation 

According to Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya, ayurveda doctor, avoiding these three things can help you ease your periods & stay healthy & calm.

Caffeine: Caffeine increases Vata (air element) in body and also increases cortisol reducing the happy hormones which can lead to dehydration, weakness & emotional cravings.

Excessive Spicy & Salty foods increases pitta which can increase bleeding, & even discomfort to some extent. So it's best to avoid.

Intense exercise/ Yoga/ Heating pranayamas like bhastrika, kapalbhati can increase excess vata which can cause more pain and make you feel more tired and dehydrated.

According to ayurveda, staying up at night (when it's sleeping time ) increases both vata & pitta to some extent.

This can disturb your metabolism, reduce energy levels and make you feel more weak, tired & low.
