Are you over-consuming information?

According to Dr Sarah Vohra, Consultant Psychiatrist, the balance between staying connected, remaining informed and educated but ensuring we don’t over consume information can be a tricky one to strike.

The world can feel like a scary place at the moment. We can often find ourselves over consuming information, constantly scrolling, turning notifications on for all news outlets afraid we will miss something.

Every update can heighten our anxiety, trap us in cycles of disbelief that prevent us from living in the moment.⁣⁣

Decide which source you’re going to consume your information from.

Turn down the noise on any other outlets, speculation and opinion that most likely won’t serve you and if anything will stand to make you feel worse.⁣⁣

Every time you find yourself reaching for your phone. ⁣⁣Ask yourself, is this going to inform me or overwhelm me.
