Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse in Baltimore

A cargo vessel collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore shortly after departing the Port of Baltimore, leading to a collapse.

Six workers who were on the bridge during the collision are presumed dead, with the authorities ending the search.

The cargo ship, named Dali, was chartered by Maersk at the time of the accident.

Potholes were reportedly being fixed on the bridge by construction crews when the collision occurred.

Two individuals were rescued, one unharmed and one in serious condition, while six remained missing.

All 22 crew members aboard the cargo ship were Indian nationals, according to the company.

The incident prompted Maryland Governor Wes Moore to declare a state of emergency.

The bridge carried 1.3 million vehicles annually and was part of the I-695 highway, also known as the Baltimore Beltway.

Initial investigations suggest the bridge collapse was accidental, with no evidence of a terrorist attack.
