Why you should not avoid breakfast

According to Dr. Megan Rossi, gut health nutrition expert, one study showed that when women who did not normally eat early in the morning were made to, it lead to weight gain.

Other studies showed that when breakfast eaters are told to swerve the cereal/ porridge/ eggs or whatever, they seem to overeat in the next meal.

This really highlights the reality that everyone's eating pattern is different- the pattern which works for you might not work for someone else.

If you serve breakfast but get to the office and snack on low-fibre, nutrient poor cookies, then that's clearly not a health-giving and gut-loving move.

But if you delay breakfast and then have a bowl of high fibre porridge or sourdough with eggs, tomato and kimchi a little later on? Then: boom- a happy gut and the fuel you need to get your day done is the result.

She further added, "Children are slightly different, especially of school age- I believe a wholesome breakfast before school is important for kids."
