Taking to Instagram, ayurvedic practitioner Dr Alka Vijayan listed the difference between frozen and fresh vegetables, and what we should be had for better health.

According to the expert, once frozen, vegetables tend to lose their prana or become "paryushita or lifeless” because their "their vitality or ojas is stripped off" and "they lose their sattvic quality in the process of freezing".

Whereas, fresh vegetables are "easier to digest, tastier and revitalise every cell", she added.

"In short, we are eating some lifeless, nutrition deprived food (often in the name of vitamins and fibre)," she mentioned.
