Actor-couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone appeared on the season eight premiere of Koffee with Karan and spoke about their personal and professional lives.
Deepika and Ranveer’s love story started on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and they revealed on the show that they were practically “inseparable” during the making of the film.
Ranveer recounted that he had been in a long term relationship before he met Deepika, and she had been single for a while.
Ranveer remembered sitting next to Deepika at lunch, and noticed that a tiny piece of crab meat had got stuck in her teeth. Ranveer recalled, “I said you got something on your teeth, she said clean it.”
For Ranveer, the “moment of spark” happened right there. He said when he put his pinky finger in her mouth, he felt a 440 watt jolt.
Deepika said that when she and Ranveer started dating each other, they were still allowed to see other people but she “would always go back to him” because, in her mind, she was committed to him.
In her words, “Until he proposed to me, there was no commitment as such.” Ranveer shared that he knew Deepika was “the one” in six months. He then revealed that they started dating in 2012, got engaged in 2015, and kept their engagement a secret from the rest of the world for three years.
