Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor questioned the hate post many Indian celebs walking the red carpet at Met Gala 2025.
A section of Indian netizens slammed Indian celebrities for attending the Met Gala 2025.
The trolls questioned Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani, Diljit Dosanjh, and others’ attending the grand New York fashion event and called it "Chandivalification of MET".
Instagram account Diet Sabya shared a post to school trolls and Janhvi too extended her support.
Janhvi Kapoor said that it was “high time” that Indian artisans and designers and our icons got their deserved spotlight on a global stage.
She added, "Shouldn’t we be happy we’re finally getting our due instead of salty about how seeing our own people on this platform is making it seem a little less aspirational?"
She added, "Clearly colonial trauma hasn’t left us. For decades the work of our artisans has been exported from our country and put on global platforms without credit."
"I’m glad our people are finally getting the chance to represent so much of our work and heritage. If anything, the sense of pride I felt seeing our artists and garments at the Met made whole affair seem even more magical," she concluded.
