How to match undertone with skin tone

Choosing the right foundation requires understanding your undertone, which influences how the colour appears on your skin.

Undertones remain steady over time, even when your skin tone varies due to tanning or fading.

There are three main undertones: warm (yellow, golden, peachy), cool (pink, red, bluish), and neutral (a combination of the two).

To determine your undertone, inspect your veins (green for warm, blue/purple for cool, or unclear for neutral) or use the jewellery test.

The correct undertone allows foundation to mix effortlessly with your skin, whereas the incorrect one may make it appear washed out, too yellow, or ashy.

If a foundation's undertone is off, use colour correctors: blue for too much yellow, yellow for too much pink, and orange for a grey or ashy tone.
