Here are few ingredients to avoid if using Vitamic C serum

According to Dr Aanchal, Dermatologist, Vitamin C is an unstable molecule. So you have to be careful about what you are mixing with vitamin C.

Alpha hydroxy acids: Do not mix a glycolic acid or lactic acid with vitamin C. Instead, use vitamin C in the morning and there AHA 2-3 times at night.

Alpha hydroxy acids: Beta hydroxy acids Do not use salicylic acid with vitamin C. Instead use salicylic acid as a spot treatment on areas of acne and blackheads or whiteheads.

If you have active acne, it is best to avoid vitamin C altogether and use azelaic acid instead.

Retinol Mixing vitamin C and retinol together is not a good idea. It may cause dryness and irritation. Instead use vitamin c in the morning and retinol at night to reap full benefits of both ingredients.

Benzoyl peroxide Do not combine benzoyl peroxide or other acne medications with vitamin C. Benzoyl peroxide can use redness and irritation to the skin.
