Separatists leaders conducted a house meeting on the Sainik colony issue on Sunday in Srinagar. The seminar also saw participation of prominent separatist leaders such as SAS Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. However, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief, Mohammad Yasin Malik was absent as he was under custody. Both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference and the JKLF are launching a joint effort against the state government's decision to set up separate colonies for Sainiks and Kashmiri Pandits in the valley. Ever since the proposal has come to the fore, several protests erupted across the valley.
