Sedition Case Filed Against Amnesty International In Bengaluru
Bengaluru police today lathicharged ABVP activists who were protesting against Amnesty International over alleged anti-national slogans raised by organisation's members. The slogans were raised during an event organised at United Theological College on Saturday to discuss suffering of Kashmiri people.
A sedition case was also registered against representatives of the organisation on Monday after ABVP activists filed a case. Amnesty also released a press statement on Saturday and accepted that slogans of Azadi were raised towards the end of the event. However, it also said that conduct of some people should not be used to distract attention from larger issue.
Earlier, students of Jawahar Lal Nehru University had come under scanner after pro-pakistan and anti-India slogans were raised at University campus during one of the events.
