Delhi MCD elections: Sheila Dikshit speaks
Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit says she is confident of Congress emerging victorious in the upcoming MCD polls and slams the BJP government that has been governing the MCD since past 10 years. She lashes out at the BJP and accuses them of doing no work. Speaking on the deteriorating condition of the city, she says the BJP government has failed to maintain the cleanliness in the city and has also been dysfunctional in paying wages to the MCD employees.
Terming the allegations against her as baseless, Dikshit said 'when her government was in power, the required funds were always paid in advance'. "The government did everything possible to meet the needs of the MCD employees and the citizens," she says.
Commenting on CM Arvind Kejriwal's promise of waiving off the house tax if AAP comes to power, she says the decision is insensitive and short-sighted. Her question to the AAP is how will the government generate funds if the house tax is waived.
