Andhra Pradesh: Five Killed As Building Collapses Due To Heavy Rain

Five persons, including two children, were killed on Tuesday after the roof of a house collapsed due to incessant rains at Utapalavaram village in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh.
The incident happened in the wee hours when the thatched-roof house collapsed due to heavy rains, killing five persons on the spot and injuring two others, said the police
The deceased were identified as Angampalli Chinna Gurrappa (55), his wife Penchalamma (45), his daughter Harita (24), his grandsons Yaswant(5) and Navaneet(3), were asleep when mishap happened, the officer said.
The injured have been admitted to a local government hospital, Venkateswarlu said, adding, a case has been registered and investigations are on.
Earlier, the weather officials expected heavy rainfall in many districts of Andhra Pradesh under the impact of a deep depression in Bay of Bengal that was likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm.
