Surgical strikes: Villagers in Punjab move to other places after annoucement
Villagers in Punjab's Amritsar moved to safety after an announcement was made following surgical strikes conducted by Indian Army along LoC on Thursday. The BSF evacuated villages in Punjab till 10 km range of international border as a precautionary measure. The men were seen carrying their families including women and children to safer places and decided to stay back to take care of the fields.
The surgical strikes were conducted by Indian Army on Thursday to destroy the terrorist launch pads which were operating along the LoC. These launch pads were used to infiltrate terrorists inside the Indian territory and carry out attacks. The development comes days after 19 Indian soldiers died in an attack by armed terrorists in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir on September 18.
