Thousands of devotees from across the world descended at Puri city to witness the culmination of the annual rath yatra festival. The three gigantic colourfully decked up wooden chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra have been kept ready near the Jagannath temple to be pulled by ropes by thousands of devotees. As the priests carried out the rituals, devotees circumambulated around the chariot and recited hymns. Devotees were enthralled to get a glimpse of the idols amid the rush. Meanwhile, the administration made sure that the celebrations went on smoothly. The celebration ends nine days later with Bahuda Yatra or return journey to their temple, which will take place on July 14..
