WATCH: Russia Claims Advances in Pokrovsk as Ukraine Says It Repelled Attacks

Russia said its forces continued advancing into eastern and northwestern Pokrovsk in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, while also striking targets across Sumy and Kharkiv. Moscow claimed Ukrainian breakout attempts were repelled and 230 Ukrainian drones shot down. Ukraine issued a different assessment, saying it had fought off Russian attacks across multiple directions, amid what President Zelensky described as a week of intense bombardment using drones, guided bombs, and missiles. Meanwhile, Russia condemned Ukrainian strikes on civilian energy infrastructure, including two Gambian-flagged oil tankers and the port of Novorossiysk, calling for international condemnation.
