Trump Freezes ALL Afghan Immigration After DC Shooting Suspect Identified | National Guard Shootin

US President Donald Trump announced that all Afghan immigrants admitted during the previous administration will be re-examined after 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal was identified as the suspect in a shooting that critically wounded two National Guard troops near the White House. USCIS then froze all immigration processing for Afghan nationals, saying cases are halted “indefinitely” pending security reviews. Lakanwal entered the U.S. in 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome, which resettled 76,000 Afghans after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
