UK Journalist Piers Morgan has been trolled on the social media for slamming India’s performance at the recently concluded Rio 2016 olympics. Morgan shared his opinion on team India’s run in Rio saying, “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?” he wrote in reply to a tweet from an Indian that mentioned how the two medallists Sakshi Malik and PV Sindhu were welcomed in India.

Morgan, as expected, received a lot of flak for his comments as Chetan Bhagat and Suhel Seth did not hold back their response to the British journalist. “What is even more embarrassing are your snivelling interviews as if you had a diaper in your mouth. Sad,” said Seth, to which, Morgan responded, “At least you’ll never have to worry about being one of my interviewees, Suhel. I only interview famous people.”

But how would you reply to Virender Sehwag? Sehwag, who remains active on the social media, didn’t let Morgan’s tweet go unnoticed. He replied him in the coolest way possible with a reference to England’s World Cup victory, where the founders of the game haven’t had much luck. Sehwag wrote, “We cherish every small happiness’, But Eng who invented Cricket,&yet2win a WC,still continue to playWC.Embarrassing?”

But Morgan didn’t hold back. He replied to Sehwag saying, “Very embarrassing, Legend. If @KP24 was playing, we’d win the WC. Just as we won T20 WC & he was Man of Series.”

Sehwag didn’t drop his guns. He replied, “KP is a legend no doubt,bt wasnt he born in SA,&by ur logic Eng shd hv won 2007WC. Why hv prblm wid our ppl, celbrtng.”

Well, Morgan now has to come up with something which will top that.

UK Journalist Piers Morgan trolled for making fun of India’s performance at Olympics

While Sakshi became the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal for the country, PV Sindhu went on to become the only Indian to play the finals of a badminton event at the Olympics. There was a lot of euphoria surrounding the victory, which ultimately brought glory during the final days of the Summer Games. We all came to terms with India’s disappointing performance at this year’s Olympics, but that didn’t affect our spirits when the two female participants made India proud at the global event.
