Laxmirani Manjhi, ranked 43rd, crashed out of the Rio 2016 Olympics after losing in the individual women’s archery qualification event. She lost to Slovakia 7-1 of the first round of elimination. After a series of poor scores, Manjhi failed to win more than one round and the result ended her campaign at the Games, which was her first.
Laxmirani already competed in the women’s archery team category, along with Deepika Kumari and Bombayla Devi, but failed to push her team through to the semi-finals. The women’s archery team lost to Russia in the quarter-finals on Monday.
Laxmirani, who hails from Chittaranjan in Jharkhand, shot into the lime light in the year 2015 when she managed to win the silver medal in the World Archery Championships. She qualified for Rio 2016 Olympics by making it to the quarters of the World Championship in Copenhagen in May.

# The third set is tied at 26-26. So 5-1 after three sets. Majhi needs to win this one

# Majhi has lost the first set 27-25 to the Slovakian.
India’s Archery trio of Deepika Kumari, Laxmirani Majhi and Bombayla Devi lose 4-5 to Russia in women’s team quarters, crash out of Rio 2016 Olympics. The match was decided via a shootoff were world champions Russia managed to score 25 as against to India’s 23.
The team, compromising of Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Laxmirani Manjhi, beat Colombia 5-2 in a nail-biting qualifying match to enter the quarters.
