Meta plans fresh round of layoffs, to move 7,000 staff to AI projects
Meta is undergoing a major restructuring, with plans to lay off 10% of its staff and transfer 7,000 employees to AI-related projects. This is in line with CEO Mark Zuckerberg's focus on improving AI workflows and increased capital spending for AI. The company is also closing 6,000 open roles, following a trend of AI-related job cuts in the industry.
