New parasitic wasp species discovered in Jammu & Kashmir
A new species of parasitic wasp has been discovered in the Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir. Named Doryctes (Udamolcus) xylotrechi, it preys on the wood-boring beetle Xylotrechus stebbingi and could be useful in biological control. The discovery also helps scientists better understand this group of insects and highlights the biodiversity of the Kashmir Himalayas.
