8,500 daily steps — not 10,000 — may be the sweet spot to prevent weight regain
New research suggests that walking 8,500 steps a day can prevent weight regain and maintain long-term weight loss. This is a more realistic goal than the commonly recommended 10,000 steps. The study also found that combining a reduced-calorie diet with 8,200-8,500 steps a day can help maintain 3-4 kg of lost weight.
