The Bombay High Court granted Farukh Ilahi Sayyad his engineering degree after nine years of struggling due to Maharashtra's 5% Muslim reservation policy. Despite completing his education with good grades, bureaucratic deadlock and a lapsed ordinance had prevented him from obtaining his degree.
