71 fire stations in Delhi for over 3.3 crore people — 1 for 4.6 lakh residents: DDMA
Delhi's firefighting infrastructure is struggling to meet the needs of its 3.3 crore population, with only 71 fire stations and severe staff shortages. A recent meeting chaired by the LG addressed issues such as illegal storage of flammable materials and delayed access to fire sites. The DFS also faces equipment and manpower shortages, with only 78% of their fleet and 74% of staff operational.
