Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), along with Gujarat Titans, will be making their debut in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and will be eager to stamp their authority on the tournament. The Super Giants already showed their intent when they signed KL Rahul as their skipper for Rs 17 crore
as well as Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for Rs 9.2 crore and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for Rs 4 crore in the draft. The franchise bought Quinton de Kock for Rs 6.75 crore, Manish Pandey for Rs 4.6 crore and Evin Lewis for Rs 2 crore. To add to that already impressive line-up, LSG also purchased a number of all-rounders including Jason Holder for Rs 8.75 crore, Krunal Pandya for Rs 8.25 crore and Deepak Hooda for Rs 5.75 crore. The Super Giants were dealt a blow recently when Mark Wood was ruled out of the IPL after suffering an injury on his right elbow during the ongoing Test series between England and West Indies. Just like their fellow debutants, LSG has a pretty well-balanced bowling line-up with Khan, Chameera pair opening the bowling attack who will be ably supported by Holder in the pace bowling department. As for the spinners, LSG have an ace up their sleeve in former Punjab Super Kings’ bowler Ravi Bishnoi who was one of the top IPL 2021 performers. Additionally, LSG also have K Gowtham and Krunal Pandya at their disposal.
