Chennai Super Kings

Fans will once again witness the familiar sight of the Chepauk stadium packed to the brim in yellow and screaming the name of MS Dhoni as the defending champions start their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener.

Returning to IPL in 2018 after serving a two-year suspension, Chennai suffered a poor start but the team bounced back in a spectacular fashion as they won the title against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team retained most of their players and added just two cricketers in their squad. Medium pacer Mohit Sharma has been roped in for Rs 5 crore, while uncapped batsman RutuRaj Gaikwad was bought for Rs 20 lakh. Chennai Super Kings, who have already won the title thrice, are branded as one of the most dominant sides in the tournament and are the only team to defend their title successfully. The team bagged the IPL titles in 2010, 2011 and 2018.
