Mumbai City FC was born in August 2014 and has been part of the ISL since its inception. The club is co-owned by Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and chartered accountant Bimal Parekh. The club has seen prolific players and managers don their colours such as Fredrik Ljungberg, Nicolas Anelka, Diego Forlan, India’s own captain Sunil Chhetri and Sonny Norde to name a few. The club plays its home games at the 18,000 seater Mumbai Football Arena in Andheri and has so far finished seventh, sixth and semifinalists in the three seasons. The club have stuck by Alexandre Guimaraes as their manager for a second season following first place finish in the league stages last season but defeat to ATK in the last-four ended their campaign.
