Jamshedpur FC are on the two entrants into the Indian Super League - besides Bengaluru FC. Based out of Jamshedpur, Jarkhand, the club was established on May 12, 2017 when Tata Steel won the bidding rights for one of the two expansion spots in the ISL. In their inaugural season, the club will be managed by Englishman and former Kerala Blasters coach Steve Coppell. The club enjoyed the first pick option as a new club in the ISL draft and picked Anas Edathodika as their first player. The club will play their home games at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. This is not the first foray for Tata in a football with a strong base in Tata Football Academy. They will play their first game away to NorthEast United on November 18.
