After a controversial period, All India Football Federation (AIFF) invited bids for clubs and cities to become part of an expanded ISL. From the bids received, Bengaluru FC were one of the two entrants and their desire came as no surprise. The club, considered to be one of the most professional managed football club in the country, is owned by JSW Group and plays its home games at the Kanteerava Stadium. Since birth in 2013, Bengaluru have won the I-League and Federation Cup twice, finished runners up in I-League and the AFC Cup. Managed by Alberto Roca, the club have brought in the likes of John Johnson and Miku.
