The New Year brings with it a daunting challenge for the Indian team as they undertake a full tour of South Africa. It consists of a three-match Test series, a six-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. The Test series starts on January 5 with the first Test being played in Cape Town. The second will be played in Centurion while the third is in Johannesburg. The tour is touted as the first big test that Virat Kohli faces since taking over as India’s captain in all three formats of the game from MS Dhoni in January 2016. The Indian team will be facing a full-strength South African side that will feature Dale Steyn and AB De Villiers, both of whom are returning from long-term injuries.
