A familiar story with the ball - Zimbabwe will once again be disappointed with their bowling effort after conceding another massive total. A couple of dropped chances only added to their woes and made the task even harder. Richard Ngarava, Tinotenda Maposa, Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza all picked up wickets, but none of them were able to truly stem the flow of runs as India kept the pressure firmly on throughout. It will be a similar task for the batters that they had against the Windies, but against a world-class bowling attack of India, it does not get any easier for them. Top order fires, finishers explode - India got off to a flying start, with Sanju Samson playing a brisk cameo. He did not carry on for long, but his 48-run stand with Abhishek Sharma marked India's highest opening partnership of this World Cup. Abhishek, after a quiet tournament so far, finally found his rhythm and brought up a fine half-century, adding another 72 runs with Ishan Kishan. Suryakumar Yadav chipped in, but it was the late surge that truly blew Zimbabwe away. Tilak Varma smashed 44* off just 16 balls, while Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 50 from 23, as India finished with a flourish. The innings featured 17 sixes, underlining just how ruthless they were.

India deliver when it matters most - India produce their best batting display of the tournament in this must-win encounter, coming out with clear intent from the very first over. In the process, they went past West Indies' 254 and posted the highest total of this World Cup, registering their best-ever first-innings score in the tournament's history. This is also the second-highest first innings total in T20 World Cups, only behind Sri Lanka's 260/6 against Kenya back in 2007. Zimbabwe had no answers to the relentless assault and have now conceded 250-plus totals in back-to-back games, a worrying trend at this stage of the competition.
