Manipur University VC Prof. Adya Prasad Pandey informed that a camp office has been opened at his official quarter and he has started discharging the duties of V-C, even as his office still remains locked.
On Saturday, Pandey submitted his joining letters to all the authorities concerned that he had resumed his duties in the varsity with immediate effect after taking a leave of 30 days from August 2.
Following protests by students and teachers demanding Pandey’s resignation, a memorandum of agreement was signed on August 16 between the protesters, the state government and the HRD Ministry.
The MU community had suspended the strike in August, however, it issued a warning in case the authority failed to take action. September 4 has been served as the deadline to fulfill the demand.
