Speaking to reporters, the police said that they have arrested five persons involved in the incident. "They are in judicial custody till September 27," Manubazar officer in-charge Shibu Chandra Dey informed this evening.
Goutam Das tested positive for the virus in the end of August this year and later, was admitted to a private hospital. After his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to a hospital in Kolkata on September 6.
“During field experiences of these extremists, they realised that they had been cheated in the name of Independence of Tripura,” said a police statement.

In a series of tweets Friday, the chief minister blamed the Left for the recent incidents of political violence in the state in which media houses and CPI(M) offices were attacked and several activists of the BJP as well as the Left were injured.
The newspaper and TV channel offices were ransacked when a few CPIM party offices in different districts were being attacked on Wednesday.
Around 10 people were injured, two CPM offices were gutted and at least six vehicles set ablaze in the latest clashes, said authorities. The CPM's state headquarters was also targeted, said party leaders.
CPI(M) in a press statement Tuesday evening said three of the arrested are its party workers and were arrested “illegally”.
