Two decades later, ahead of the bhoomi pujan for the temple at Ayodhya, Shiv Sainiks who had heeded Bal Thackeray’s call and headed to Ayodhya in December 1992 find themselves on the other side of the fence.
The Shiv Sena has been vocal about the Ram temple with Uddhav Thackeray has visited Ayodhya three times in the last two years, including his visit in March to mark the completion of 100 days in office as Chief Minister.
“We have called a meeting of the state legislature’s Business Advisory Committee on Tuesday. All issues will be discussed and a decision taken accordingly,” said Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Anil Parab.

Thackeray, according to a statement issued by his office, has instructed the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to restore power supply on a war-footing. Also, people evacuated to camps in Mumbai should be allowed to return only after their Covid-19 test, Thackeray added.
As per the existing guidelines, it is mandatory for industries to employ 80 per cent Maharashtra domiciled persons, and remaining 20 per cent employees from anywhere else. The quota has not been legislated, but effected by way of a government resolution.
