Chandigarh became the worst performer in the Tricity as students sat the boards for the first time since 2009 after the government scrapped the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system last year.
With Chandigarh becoming the worst performer in the Tricity with a pass percentage of 66.21 as compared to 96.27 last year, a significant factor could be the fact that all 90 government schools in Chandigarh are affiliated to the CBSE.
Four students, all IIT aspirants, emerged Tricity toppers with 98.8 per cent in the Class 10 board examination, the results of which were declared by the CBSE two hours before the scheduled time at 4 pm on Tuesday.

Earlier, the roster was made taking the whole university as a unit. But the only difference now is that the roster will be made according to departments or subjects and even the vacancies will be filled up accordingly.
According to information, there are 1,400 sanctioned faculty posts in 78 teaching departments of the university. Out of these, 950 are for assistant professors, 300 for associate professors and 200 for professors.
