Coronavirus (COVID-19): “A meeting is scheduled with the Prime Minister tomorrow. The decision to extend the lockdown can’t be taken unilaterally as one state cannot stop the spread of coronavirus," said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
"If we look at projections for number of cases per day, we are still at the first stage — when we are getting less than 100 cases a day," said Dr S K Sarin, who heads the Delhi government’s expert committee on COVID-19.
Most of the cases, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, were from among those who went to the Nizamuddin Markaz gathering last month. Of the 386 COVID-19 cases in Delhi, 259 are linked to the Markaz gathering.
Much more than 70 seats are at stake in the Delhi Assembly polls that just ended. For AAP, the Feb 11 results will show if its gambit of seeking a mandate on its performance has paid off; for BJP, if Modi name, Hindutva agenda prove stronger than CAA anger.
