The three arrested accused were identified as Sonia Dhawan, who started as Vijay’s secretary and is currently vice-president, corporate communications/PR; her husband Rupak Jain; and Devendra Kumar, an employee with Paytm’s administration department.
The victim, Arsha, hailed form Jalgaon in Maharashtra, and was travelling with her family. The injured were sent to the District Hospital in Noida, and five were referred to a government hospital in south Delhi.
The boy acted on instinct when he saw two men on a black Apache motorcycle attempting to rob the victim. When the two accused came close to Praveen, Rohit jumped at them, making them lose their balance.
Station House Officer (Sector 49) Anita Chauhan said, “We received a memo from the hospital about the body. Initially, the parents were not willing to conduct a post-mortem, but we said it needs to be done. No suicide note was found. We are investigating if the boy was depressed.”
In the video, passersby ask him questions about his condition, but do not provide first-aid or take him to a hospital. He was eventually taken to a hospital in a police vehicle, where he succumbed to his injuries.
