
The Group of Seven summit hosted by Japan concluded on May 21, and was attended by more countries than its name suggests, thanks to its host, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's decision to expand the guest list.

During the summit, G7 countries asked all “major economies”, including countries like India and China, to commit to attaining a net-zero emissions status by 2050 “at the latest”. (AP)

In their first in-person meeting since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year, PM Modi assured Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy that India will do “whatever is possible” to find a solution to the conflict. (AP)
