More than 100 dead after massive fire breaks out in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar

At least 110 people died Thursday from a massive fire which broke out in Dhaka's Chawkbazar area, which dates back to the Mughal period more than three centuries ago. More than 50 others were reportedly injured as the fire was still lit early Thursday morning. (AP)

The blaze started late Wednesday night in a chemical warehouse on the ground floor of a four-storey building named Hazi Wahed Mansion behind a Mosque in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar area which then quickly spread to other buildings as well in the area, reported news agency PTI. (AP)
