Re-imagined: What if our favourite superheroes were Indian super-aunties

UK-based artist, Kulwinder Rehal, has gone ahead and reimagined our favourite superheroes as Indian aunties, with their distinct costumes and weapons. Take a look!

We have all known all along that the belan-wielding, jhappi-giving and glowering aunties are superheroes. After all, how else could one explain how gossip travels to — and through — them so fast, or how they know everyone's whereabouts and that the autowallahs and the sabjiwallahs can just not dupe them come what may. UK-based artist, Kulwinder Rehal , has gone ahead and reimagined our favourite superheroes as Indian aunties, with their distinct costumes and weapons. Take a look! (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

The Incredible Hulkwinder (Hulk): This is one aunty you surely don't want to anger, lest she grab you by your tie. We wonder what happened to the poor chap whose tie she stands clutching in one hand. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Dead-Phool Auntyji (Deadpool): The phool intertwined with Dead-Phool Auntiji's hair don't seem so dead though. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Satnam Aunty (Batman): Satnam aunty has declared her loyalties clearly on her bust. She shall come after you with her lasso if you dared to intrude upon her kitchen and kitchen essentials — especially KTC-brand ghee and oil. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Captain Shanti Devi (Captain America): Trust our Indian aunties to not leave fashion behind even when it comes to donning a superhero costume. Captain Shanti Devi — with her identity emblazoned across her chest and shield — didn't forget her red bindi and the fluffy, pink hair band. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Ishpider Bhen (Spider Man): It's high time someone composed a song in honour of Ishpider Bhen, look at how she tries to maintain grace even while fighting naughty boys in the mohalla. 'Ishpider Bhen, Ishpider Bhen tune churaya...' (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Billo Auntyji (Catwoman): With the stealth with which she's trying to steal packaged lassi, doesn't Billo Auntiji emanate a feline aura? (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Sherni-O Aunty (ThunderCats): See the buckle of Sherni-O Aunty's belt? Yes, you're right. She'll chase you down with those daandiya sticks — you know they hurt. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Bulbreen Aunty (Wolverine): So what if Wolverine had badass nails? Bulbreen Aunty has the power of the chimta in her hands. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Bindar Woman (Wonder Woman): Bindar Woman is one sexy superhero who doesn't shy away from wielding those belans. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)

Joker Aunty (The Joker): For which superhero list is complete without at least one villain. And when it is Joker Aunty inviting you home for some idli sambhar with a menacing grin on her face, you make up a decent excuse and hope she doesn't find out. (Source: kully_rehal/Instagram)
