
The latest iMac from Apple features an M1 processor, a new design, and are available in a variety of colours. It ships with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with Apple's True Tone tech, P3 wide colour gamut, 500nits of peak brightness, and a low reflectivity coating. It offers two small fans, which is said to provide up to 50 percent quieter (<10 dB). The new iMac has a 1080p webcam, a studio-quality 3-mic array with beamforming tech, and a Dolby Atmos-certified 6-speaker system. It supports up to a 6K display, a new magnetic power connector and an adapter that integrates the Ethernet port. Apple also unveiled three new Magic Keyboard models and one of them features wireless Touch ID. The 24-inch iMac is being offered with support for up to 16GB memory, 1TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5, and two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports. Its price starts at Rs 18,900 and goes up to Rs 20,900 in India. It will be available for pre-orders from April 30.
Apple has announced a new purple colour for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini and interested users will be able to buy the new model starting April 30. It will go up for pre-orders starting this Friday. The specifications of the purple colour variant aren't different from the existing model. It comes with a starting price of Rs 79,990 in India.
Apple finally launched AirTag, which is a Bluetooth tracker. The price starts from Rs 3,190, which is for one AirTag. In case you want to buy four pack, then you will have to spend Rs 10,900 in India. The new product will go on sale from April 30. It uses Ultra-wideband (UWB) tech to track lost items. It is powered by a U1 chip, which allows it to find Apple devices like iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch models. AirTags has a built-in speaker, NFC and Bluetooth LE connectivity support, and accelerometer. It even offers support for Apple's Siri. The claims users will get one year of battery life with AirTags. The Bluetooth tracker is also IP67 rated, which means its is water and dust resistant. One can easily connect it to an iPhone by bringing it close to it.
The newly launched 11-inch iPad Pro will cost you Rs 71,900 in India and this price is for the 128GB Wi-Fi model. The Wi-Fi + Cellular model (128GB) is priced at Rs 85,900. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is selling for Rs 99,900 (Wi-Fi model). As for the features, the 12.9-inch tablet comes with a Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display with over 10,000 LEDs, a 2732x2048 pixels resolution, ProMotion, True Tone, P3 wide colour support, up to 1,600nits peak brightness for HDR. The 11-inch model offers Liquid Retina display with support for ProMotion, True Tone, and P3 wide colour support. The device even has support for HDR, Dolby Vision, Thunderbolt and USB 4. On the front is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, which supports Center Stage which can pan to keep the subject in the shot. The rear camera setup includes a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 10MP ultra-wide sensor with a LiDAR scanner. It supports Smart HDR 3, which uses machine learning to identify scenes and tune various parameters to get better shots. They ship with a 20W adapter, a four-speaker setup and five studio-quality microphones.
The Cupertino giant also unveiled its new Apple TV 4K, which is powered by Apple's A12 Bionic processor and supports high-frame-rate HDR content. The hardware allows 60fps Dolby Vision playback over AirPlay from compatible iPhones. Similar to the older Apple TV models, this one too supports Dolby Atmos. It offers a new Colour Balance feature, which lets users adjust the colour balance of their television sets using their iPhone. One can do this by just holding up the iPhone to a designated spot on the TV, and then the light sensor of the iPhone helps measure and calibrate the colour output. Apple also launched a new Siri Remote, which comes with a touch-enabled clickpad an outer-ring that can now read circular motions to seek along a video timeline. One will also notice a new power button that controls the TV set, and a Siri button on a place.
Apple also announced Podcasts Subscriptions. Listeners can basically pay podcasts creators to access benefits like ad-free episodes, additional content, early access to episodes or exclusive series. The good thing is you can share podcast subscriptions with up to six family members. The Podcasts Subscriptions will be available in May in over 170 countries and regions. You will be required to pay a monthly subscription fee. Additionally, creators will get to decide the pricing for Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. Creators also have the option to offer free trials and sample episodes to listeners. To do all this, creators will have to sign up for Apple Podcasters Program to access all of the tools. Apple has also redesigned its Podcasts app and it now comes with channels that allow creators to group shows.
