West Indies vs England: In the ICC World Twenty20 Final at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, England suffered the worst possible start after being put in to bat by Darren Sammy who won the toss for the sixth consecutive match. Jason Roy who had scored 78 runs from 44 balls against New Zealand in the semi-final before being bowled by spinner Ish Sodhi suffered much the same outcome on Sunday with no runs on board. On the second delivery of the match, Samuel Badree bowled a sliding ball that skid through the surface and went on to hit the leg stump. (Source: Reuters)

West Indies vs England: After zero runs scored by one of the opening batsmen, Alex Hales could only muster one as England were left in a miserable place at 8/2. With the ball straying on the leg side, Hales hit it straight to Samuel Badreee at short fine leg. The ball was travelling but that's no problem for Badree as Andre Russell celebrates. Hales, meanwhile, is livid with himself. Had that been played a little square or a little fine, that would have gone for a four! (Source: Reuters)

West Indies vs England: England's worries continued with Eoin Morgan once again failing to chip in with the bat. Morgan tried to close the face of the bat but didn't read the googly at all and it took the outside edge which was mopped up easily by Chris Gayle at first slip. Morgan only scored 5 runs from 12 balls. (Source: AP)

West Indies vs England: Just as England looked comfortable with Jos Buttler and Joe Root in the middle, Buttler departed after they put up 61 runs for the fourth wicket. From a back of length delivery, Butler hit it straight to Dwayne Bravo at the midwicket boundary to start the trademark celebrations. Buttler had timed it perfectly but maybe that helped it along. West Indies vs England: Where wickets continued to pile on the other side, one man stayed head and shoulders above the rest. Joe Root stayed calm and confident against the West Indies momentum and kept his strike rate above 130 at the same time. He put up a partnership of 61 runs with Jos Buttler for the fourth wicket before reaching his 50 from 33 balls. His inning saw seve boundaries to entertain the Eden crowd. (Source: PTI)

West Indies vs England: Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo can shake a leg without the need of their "Champions!" song too. Just as they did after Ben Stokes played a bizarre shot to hand an easy catch to Lendl Simmons. Stokes probably caught in two minds off a short delivery. First decided to play a pull shot but then considered letting that go only to get some contact to loop into the air and give easy picking for Simmons. (Source: PTI)

West Indies vs England: Dwayne Bravo celebrates Moeen Ali's wicket with a great run and then joining the team for high-5's. The ball was going down leg side and towards the keeper for a wide ball but Moeen tried to flick it for a four but could only touch it late to carry it back to Denesh Ramdin. (Source: PTI)

West Indies were reeling at 50/3 after nine overs. Dwayne Bravo and Marlon Samuels were at the crease but they were too slow and the pressure of required run-rate was piling on. Bravo was dismissed by Adil Rashid and the pressure mounted. (Source: AP)

He didn't need six balls. He finished the match in four balls. SIX, SIX, SIX, SIX and West Indies were World T20 champions. (Source: AP)
