Making their first ever appearance at a football major tournament, tiny Iceland punched above their weight to hold Portugal to a 1-1 draw. To make their effort even more commendable, Iceland were never resorting to stay back to defend - as many small sides do but they were pushing forward in attack and making nice movements. Their strong 40,000-odd contingent left St Etienne a happy and rather loud bunch. (Source: Reuters)

Portugal's captain Cristiano Ronaldo was chasing a milestone of scoring in four separate Euro competitions but he only came close once. With five minutes left in the game, Ronaldo had the space and the free header opportunity inside the box from a Nani cross but he headed straight to the keeper. The draw meant Iceland have their very first point in the tournament too. (Source: Reuters)
