Mohammad Amir took the winning wicket on his return to Lord's after a spot-fixing scandal as Pakistan beat England by 75 runs on the fourth day of the first cricket Test on Sunday.

Jonny Bairstow top scored with 48 and defied Pakistan for over two hours with Chris Woakes (23) in a seventh-wicket stand of 56 but once Shah removed both, Amir wrapped up the innings quickly.

Seamer Rahat Ali (3-47) rocked England's top order before Shah took charge on a wearing wicket.

For Amir, it was sweet return to Test cricket at the venue where he hogged limelight for all the wrong reasons six years ago. The seamer returned with three wickets from the match.

England were resisting with Bairstow-Woakes stand but it was that man Shah again who turned it Pakistan's way towards the end of the final session of play.

On a wearing track, Shah delivered the goods for the visitors as he added four wickets to his six in the first innings to end with a match-haul of 10 wickets - his maiden in the format.

England's top-order was always going to be crucial in the chase and a disappointing outing for Joe Root and Co meant the hosts were always playing catch-up.
