Guye Adola demolished course record to emerge triumphant in international elite men’s category, while Florence Kiplagat emerged on top in women’s event.

As far as the competition is concerned, among the Indian women, Kerala girl, Preeja Sreedharan (in pic) once again retained her title timing 1 hour and 19.03 minutes, while Monika Athare (1:19:012) and Sudha Singh (1:19:21) came second and third positions. 2010 CWG bronze medallist Kavita Raut came fourth in an hour and 19.56 minutes. In the International Elite Women category, Florence Kiplagat of Kenya defended her title clocking 01:10:04. She beat reigning world half marathon champion Gladys Cherono (01:10:05). In the Men's Elite section, newcomer Guye Adola of Ethiopia broke the course record set by compatriot Atsedu Tsegay at last year's event. Adola clocked a career-best 59.06 minutes.Adola edged 2014 IAAF/AL Bank World Half Marathon champion Geoffrey Kamworor who was a second slower (59.07)and Mosinet Geremew of Ethiopia, who came third clocking 59:11 minutes.
