While inaugurating the India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi,President Pranab Mukherjee said skill development and vocational training should be the focus areas for capitalising on the 'demographic dividend' and boosting country's economic growth. As many as 6,000 exhibitors including domestic and foreign are participating in the IITF showcasing items ranging from electronics,decorative,FMCG and accessories at Pragati Maidan. (IE Photo: Renuka Puri)


The theme of the IITF is 'Inclusive Growth',highlighting the performance of central and state ministries,departments and private sectors in the related fields.
During the 14-day long fair,the first five days would be reserved for business and trade visitors. The annual IITF will open for the general public from November 19 to 27. The entry timings would be between 9.30 am and 7.30 pm for business visitors as well as for general public. (IE Photo: Renuka Puri)

The country today fondly remembered its first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 124th birth anniversary with Congress President Sonia Gandhi,Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar,Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi,Delhi Congress president J P Agarwal,Union Ministers Sriprakash Jaiswal and V Narayanasamy paying homage to him. At the end of the ceremony,the dignitaries released tricolour balloons in the air amid playing of bands and patriotic songs sung by school children.
