Karwa Chauth 2018: Here’s how women celebrated the festival throughout India

Today, on the eve of Karva Chauth (Karwa Chauth), married women and those reaching the marriageable age will pray for the safety and long life of their husbands, fiancés or desired husbands. Women buy new earthen pots or Karwa and decorate them and put gifts like bangles, bindis and sweets inside them. On the day of Karwa Chauth, they exchange their karwas with other ladies. Decked up in fancy bridal wear, they fast during the day and eat only after the moon rises. Here are some ways in which people celebrated the festival throughout the country.
