Kangana Ranaut, Sayani Gupta, Sridevi: Here’s what Bollywood celebs wore at the MAMI 2017 red carpet

From veteran actors like Sharmila Tagore and Anupam Kher to Aamir Khan and Kangana Ranaut, it was a star-studded night. Here's what the celebrities wore on the red carpet.

Not just film promotions, but award shows and film festivals are a big part of the showbiz world. As the seven-day Jio MAMI 19th Mumbai Film Festival kickstarted on October 12, Bollywood celebs graced the red carpet acing their fashion game. From veteran actors like Sharmila Tagore and Anupam Kher to Aamir Khan and Kangana Ranaut, it was a star-studded night. Here's what the celebrities wore on the red carpet. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Wearing a risque dress from Ulyana Sergeenko’s spring-summer 2017 collection, Kangana Ranaut made heads turn at the event. The maroon and off-white ensemble is not easy to carry but she pulled it off with flair and panache. The off-shoulder dress was a fine combination of boldness and sophistication. The maroon velvet corset bodice, with deconstructed strap detail and the ruched sleeves, was the highlight of the look. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Sridevi attended the event with her husband Boney Kapoor and posed for the shutterbugs with her English Vinglish director Gauri Sinde. While usually killing it with her sartorial choices, this floral printed dress was not fascinating. We feel the Anamika Khanna outfit made her look bulky and was not one of her best looks. While we must say her makeup and hair was done right. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore was felicitated with the 'Excellence in Cinema Award' for her contribution to Indian movies at the festival. Wearing a simple pale yellow chiffon sari with a statement diamond necklace and earrings, she looked like regal.

While on the other hand, wearing a pantsuit Kiran Rao looked powerful and classy. Aamir Khan looked dapper in a blue waistcoat with matching pants. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

With Diwali approaching, celebs are embracing ethnic wears like never before. Embellished pastel shade couture seems to be in and look how well Nita Ambani and Kalki Koechlin carried these elegant ensembles. While Ambani looked ethereal in an off-shoulder 'Mehjabeen' shift style tunic kameez paired with a lehenga from the Taare Collection by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Koechlin looked effortlessly beautiful in a gold kalidaar from the house of Rimple & Harpeet Narula. Giving a twist to wearing a sari, Sayani Gupta wore the stripped bicolor six-yards with a shirt and a belt! While we have seen celebs wearing sari with a belt before but paring it with a balloon sleeve shirt was a highlight. Though we feel her bronze look was bit overdone, her sassy look was on point.

On it other hand, Huma Qureshi looked classy in a black tussar sari from Anavila. Keeping her look simple she just paired it up with heavy silver jewellery from Amrapali and a neat bun with smokey eyes. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Looking elegant as ever Konkona Sensharma was spotted wearing a long white ‘Imarti’ Mashru kurta and 'Nokha’ charcoal pajama from Raw Mango. The monochrome ensemble was perfectly paired with a heavy silver necklace and jhumka by Sangeeta Boochra.

Saiyami Kher too was seen wearing an olive green long kurta but she paired it with a brocade lehenga skirt both by designer Payal Khandwala. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

Wearing black separates with a blazer, Tisca Chopra looked chic and classy at the red carpet. Wearing a crop top from the house of Madison, she paired it with a matching flared pants by Victoria Beckham and jacket from Zara.

However, the pant-top look did not work for Richa Chadha. We feel the top from DVF with ruffled details would have looked great if paired with the right kind of trousers. And the metallic blue shoe added too much bling than that was needed. (Source: Varinder Chawla)

If women looked every bit stunning, men too looked suave and stylish. From Anupam Kher to Karan Johar everyone looked classy in suits. (Source: Varinder Chawla)
